PCINUSUDAN.COM – Special Branch Board of Nahdlatul Ulama in Sudan (PCINU) held a commemorating in welcoming the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1440 H in the Multipurpose Hall of the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum on Friday (11/15).
This event is part of the work program of the Da’wah Nahdlatul Ulama (LDNU) Sudan in each period of service that is included with Al-Hijrah study, which is a routine study aimed at every NU students and Indonesian citizens in Sudan.
The event was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia for Sudan and Eritrea, Drs. Rossalis Rusman Adenan, MBA along with his wife and Mr. Muhammad Kamal as the home staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Khartoum as invited guests along with ladies and gentlemen from P2MI (Indonesian Migrant Workers Association) and students of NU in Sudan.
The program began with the recitation of the Prophet’s Birthday Celebration Scriptures (Maulid Diba’i) by Jam’iyyah Syifaul Qulub (JSQ), the Sudanese PCINU hadroh group followed by an opening speech delivered by Ustadz Eri Prasetyanto.B. Sh as the chairman of PCINU’s board where he conveyed the importance of commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday.
Kiai Ribut Nur Huda, MA. in his speech reminded the obligation to be grateful for the blessings and grace of good health that God has given us. “All of us here must not forget the blessings and grace of good health, because if we’re not in good health we might not be able to attend the study at the Indonesian Embassy,” he said.
He further appeal the attendees of Al-Hijrah to recite the following as intent:
“بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم نويت الشكر لله تعالى على ولادة هذا النبي الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم في الشهر الشريف”
“Why is Prophet Muhammad PBUH’s birthday commemorated while the Islamic scholars’ commemorations were celebrated upon their death? Because the Prophet Muhammad was known of his grandeur and glory in islam from his birth and the scholars were known of theirs from their death, for example, Sayyidina Umar bin Khattab was a thug but after embracing Islam he became pious and a“mufti”(decision and law maker) for Moslems,” as he explained why Prophet Muhammad SAW birthday was celebrated.

“Prophet Muhammad SAW was born and passed away on the same day which is Monday 12 Robi’ul Awal. So the Prophet was asked by his shahabah (companion) why he fasted on Monday. He answered because Monday was the day I was born. From this story for the intelligent and understanding, it is concluded that the Prophet Muhammad himself glorified the day of his birth, “he continued.
At the end of his speech he conveyed a message to the Al-Hijrah community, “Thus we must be happy with his presence among them at this time by holding memorials of the Prophet’s Birthday and reading the biography of the Prophet.”
Mr. Drs. Rossalis Rusman Adenan, MBA in his speech appealed to Al-Hijrah community that attended the event to always strengthen unity of society and community, respect for the rules and regulations that apply in Indonesia and Sudan, protect themselves from things that could endanger safety, and maintain Indonesia’s reputation in the eyes of both the government and the people of Sudan.
The evening program was ended with a prayer led by K.H. Muhammad Akhyaruddin.B.Sh as the Supreme Council of PCINU Sudan and continued with Maghrib prayer in congregation.//(Adzkar)
